Skit-ish
I have always been a fan of sketch comedy…especially Monty Python and SNL…below are some ideas for some extremely nerdy philo-skits.
1. The Logical Messiah
A messiah who only speaks in logical tautologies, saying to his followers such things as ‘verily, I say unto you (x) P(x)–> P(a)’ and ‘My brothers, if p, then if q then p’ and followers who are impressed. One follower challenges him on some of the axioms and different sects form…also from David Pereplyotchik vally girls who talk in logical tautologies…’like omg you guys, I was all P(a) –> (Ex) P(x)’
2. Philosophical Idol
A parody of American idol, but where we have famous philosophers from the past (Socrates, Descartes, Mill, Russell, etc) come before a panel of judges and ‘audition’ their best argument. So, for instance, Descartes migt come out and, after some banter with the judges, give the argument ‘I think, therefore I am’, Socrates migt come out with ‘The unexamined life is not worth living’, Mill might come out and give his ‘proof’ of utilitarianism, etc. We would also need some extremely bad arguments…maybe the ontological argument for the existence of God? The judges would then critique them in a funny way, arguing over whether or not to send them to the next round…who are the judges? I don’t know, but we need one who is a bit of a dick…maybe Davidson? (early)Wittgenstein? One who is a lesser known has-been…maybe Speusippus? (Plato’s nephew who took over the Acedemy after his death), or Mortiz Sclick? and one who is a bit kooky…maybe the latter Wittgenstien? or Whitehead? Or Thales? or Democritus? Kripke?
3. Socrates-feld
A paradoy of Sienfeld but with Socrates as Sienfeld, Plato as George, Aristotle as Kramer…as for Elaine, I don’t know…maybe Sappho of Lesbos? She is the only famous woman in Ancient Greece that I know of…Or maybe Alcibiades, that scamp, he did have a fling with socrates (lol)….Newman can be played by one of the sophists…maybe Zeno
The first episode might be a parody of the one where they all try to see how long they can be ‘master of their domain’ but instead of masturbating our philosophers would be trying to see how long they can go without knowingly doing evil…lmao!!!!

[...] I have made several lame attempts at humor one of which is my very lame-brained ideas for various skits…sort of like a super-ultra-nerdy version of Monty Python…well inspired by one of these [...]
